After a series of flag meetings between BSF and BGB and a four-day standoff, BSF arrested Rohingya refugees Tuesday morning and handed them over to Tripura Police.
Last year, India had repatriated seven Rohingya men, who had been jailed in Assam for entering India illegally six years ago, to Myanmar via Manipur, hours after the Supreme Court had refused to interfere in the process.
“We have formed a joint forum called TUIPC with 48 returnee insurgent forums. We vehemently oppose the citizenship bill," returnee insurgent and former All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) supremo Ranjit Debbarma said.

Speaking to indianexpress.com, Abdul Sukkur, one of the Rohingya migrants arrested, said the group came from Jammu and Kashmir to Tripura via train.
“We are very poor people in villages. Christians converted us and behaved with us at their will. We were bewildered as they frequently misbehaved with us. This yajna was organized here today and we were reconverted to Hinduism with our own volition,” one of the 'reconverted' person said.
All the 31 Rohingyas, who have been stranded on the Zero Line between the international borders of India and Bangladesh in West Tripura district for the last 96 hours, hail from the Rakhine State of Myanmar, officials said today.

Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb said that a magisterial inquiry was ordered to look into how the incident took place and under what circumstances did the police open fire.
