Assembly Elections 2023 Exit Polls: When will it be announced

Ahead of the declaration of Assembly election results on December 3, all eyes are now on exit polls which will be declared after November 30.

With voting in five poll-bound states set to conclude on November 30, all eyes will turn to the exit poll predictions.

The electoral battles in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram commenced on November 7, while the last stage of voting will be on November 30. Results for all states will be announced on December 3. The crucial elections, all of which were held in a single phase except Chhattisgarh, are the last before the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

While Congress looks to retain power in Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh, the BJP looks to do the same in Madhya Pradesh. In Telangana, both the parties have been campaigning hard to remove the incumbent K Chandrashekar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samithi government. Meanwhile, in Mizoram, the ruling Mizo National Front hopes to keep rivals Congress and Zoram People’s Movement at bay.

What are exit polls?

Exit polls are surveys of voters conducted by agencies to gauge the results of an election with the aim of forecasting the winner and understanding voter patterns. While they are not always accurate, they give a reasonable indication about an election.

When will the exit polls be announced?

The exit poll results of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram Assembly elections will be announced on November 30, after 6 pm.

The Election Commission has has prohibited “conducting and publishing or publicising exit poll by means of print or electronic media or dissemination in any other manner whatsoever” between 7 am on November 7 and 6.30 pm on November 30.
