Tesla CEO Elon Musk has made a quirky promise: no omelette for a week. The billionaire’s pledge came after a prominent US newspaper highlighted the environmental impact of his recent SpaceX launch.
It all started when Mike Pesca, who hosts podcasts, shared a picture of the front page of The New York Times in a post on social media platform X and questioned its editorial choices.
Sharing The New York Times front page on social media, Pesca decoded its layout and explained, “If you aren’t familiar with the grammar of the Times front page layout here it is: The top right story is the lead story, the top left story is the sub-lead, and everything else above the fold is the important news of the day.”
According to the post, senior congressional Democrats are pressuring President Biden to reconsider the 2024 race, while unexpected results in the French elections grab attention. Yet, the “MOST important” story? It focused on Musk’s SpaceX launch, which allegedly affected nine bird nests.
The post gained significant traction on social media, prompting the SpaceX founder to make an unusual commitment as a gesture of reconciliation.
