(Photo: Wikimedia commons)Thailand has made it easier for Indians to travel by introducing an Electronic Visa (e-Visa) system, set to launch on January 1, 2025. The Thai Embassy in New Delhi announced the update on Wednesday, providing important details for applicants.
The e-Visa system will allow applicants to apply for all types of visas through the official website, thaievisa.go.th. Applicants can submit their applications individually or through a representative, though the embassy has clarified that it will not be responsible for incomplete applications submitted by representatives.
Thailand is launching an electronic visa system for Indian citizens, making it easier to apply for a visa online.
The e-Visa system will simplify the application process, reduce paperwork, and make it easier for Indians to travel to Thailand.
Visa applicants will be required to pay the visa fee offline. Specific details about payment options will be shared by the embassy and consulates. It is important to note that visa fees are non-refundable under any circumstances.
The e-Visa system makes applying easier and faster as the Embassy will process visa applications in about 14 working days after receiving the payment.
For those applying under the current system, applications for ordinary passports submitted at designated visa processing companies will be accepted until December 16, 2024. For diplomatic and official passport applications, the deadline is December 24, 2024.
The embassy confirmed that the 60-day visa exemption for tourism and short business trips for Indian passport holders will continue until further notice.
This new system is aimed at streamlining the visa application process for Indians planning to visit Thailand. Further details will be provided closer to the implementation date.
