Uber releases its annual Lost & Found Index 2024Uber India has released its annual ‘lost and found’ index, revealing that Delhi remains the top ‘most forgetful city’ in India where commuters mostly forgot their belongings inside the cabs. It was followed by Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Pune. The survey of 2024 also released the list of the top five ‘most unique lost items’, which includes the ukulele instrument.
According to the official website of Uber India, commuters most likely forgot their belongings on Saturday, while mobile phones were the most commonly forgotten items, followed by laptop bags, clothing, keys, headphones, wallet, spectacles/sunglasses, water bottles, jewellery and watches.
It also revealed that Apple device users were ‘most forgetful’ in 2023. Samsung and Redmi phones were also left forgotten in Uber cabs.
The list of ‘lost and found’ index published by Uber India also says November 10, 9 and 11 were the top most forgetful days of the year, while the most forgetful times of the day for Indians were 7 pm, 8 pm and 6 pm.
Meanwhile, the survey found that blue, red and pink were the top three colours of the forgotten items.
Apart from ukulele, coin collection, gate valve, cornflakes, and prasad (from temples) made their way into the list of unique lost items.
Uber also released its worldwide lost and found index for 2024. “Over the last twelve months, items of clothing, luggage, headphones and wallets topped the list of most frequently forgotten belongings,” the official website read. “Miami was the most forgetful city, red was the most lost color, 9 pm and 10 pm are when most folks report lost items, and January 21st was the most forgetful day,” it added.
