A South Korean vlogger who was filming a video on the streets of Pune faced an untoward situation when a stranger started harassing her and even put an arm around her neck.
The woman named Kelly posted the video on her YouTube channel a few days ago. Kelly, who has more than 1.69 lakh subscribers on the video-sharing platform, titled the video ‘Walking on the street in India alone as a solo woman traveler’. She said at the beginning of the video, “Wherever you travel, you can meet bad people.” However, she told her viewers to not judge Indians by the actions of a few people.
Kelly also said many people in India have told her she looks “Chinese”. As she was roaming the streets, she said she had heard that India is really noisy, but that was not the case at the place, and added that it was very clean. While exploring different shops, she tried to strike up a conversation with the locals.
At one particular shop, a few men suddenly surrounded her, apparently to pose for a picture, and one of them abruptly put his arm around her neck. Visibly uncomfortable, Kelly quickly got away from them. “I have to run away from here. Bye bye namaste,” she told them. “They really like to hug. I don’t know why,” she is then seen telling the viewers.
A short video of the incident was shared on X, formerly Twitter, where netizens expressed their outrage.
