The Commission for Air Quality Management’s (CAQM) Sub-Committee Saturday imposed measures under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) stage IV in Delhi and nearby regions (Image source: @everycornerofworld/Instagram)Delhi woke up to a thick blanket of smog on Monday as the Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 454 at 7 am. Amid outrage over worsening air pollution in the National Capital Region (NCR), a video of a high-rise society in Noida, engulfed in thick smog, has triggered netizens’ ire.
The now-viral video, shared by a vlogger, Pamela Mukherjee, shows a high-rise society covered in smog, making the region look like a hill station. In the video, two women can be heard emphasising the zero visibility in the area. “Aisi halat mein hmlog reh rahe hain (This is the state in which we are living),” a woman says. “Kuch dikh hi nhi hai (nothing is visible),” another woman says, adding that they could only see the “black” smog.
“It is so scary, maine pehli baar apni life mein iss tarah ki smog dekhi hai (I am seeing this for the first time in my life),” she says.
Sharing the video, Mukherjee wrote, “What is this ??? AQI or deadly Air Pollution… Are we really living this way??”

The video quickly gained traction, igniting outrage over the poor air quality in the National Capital. “I am thinking of leaving Delhi NCR,” a user wrote. “Feels like a scene from a sci-fi apocalypse movie,” another user commented.
“I’m so glad they implemented the Odd-Even scheme again. My lungs feel so much better knowing that the smoke I’m breathing is statistically 50% less-even than it was yesterday,” a third user reacted.
Meanwhile, the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) imposed measures under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) stage IV in Delhi and nearby regions on Saturday. The GRAP IV measures have been imposed with immediate effect as the AQI dropped to the ‘severe plus’ category.
