Tourist drops bottle of soft drink in panda enclosure, watch what happens next

YuKe, the panda was seen biting into the plastic bottle the moment it fell into the enclosure.

A tourist accidentally dropped a bottle of soft drinks into a panda enclosure, triggering the animal to respond to the peculiar gift. From the video shared on Instagram, the location or time and date is not clear, but what happened next is sure to make you go “aww”.

The video went viral because it’s a rare moment on camera. Identity of the tourist also remains undisclosed, who lost grip of the bottle which plummeted into the enclosure housing the panda named YuKe. Meanwhile, attempts to grab the bottle with tongs proved futile.

The Instagram post also mentioned Nanny Li, one of the caretakers at the research base, who sprang into action to retrieve the can before YuKe could potentially ingest it.

Faced with the urgency of the situation, Nanny Li made a quick decision and entered the enclosure to exchange the bottle with an apple, a safer alternative for the curious panda.

The viral video also had netizens express their own thoughts too. One user wrote, “That cute baby panda is not so hard to deal with, when she saw the apple she was like okay good exchange 🤣🤣🤣 but seriously tho, those people need to be banned from going there again.”

A second user said, “Can’t imagine if this was an adult panda and keeper cannot go in to grab the bottle, what would happen then!?” And a third user commented, “This happens soooooo often. Bottles, phones, umbrellas. People need to watch out!!!!! “
