Pythons kill their prey by constricting blood flow by coiling around it and squeezing its muscles tightly. A group of python hunters in Florida, US, have caught a record-breaking 19-ft-long Burmese giant at the Big Cypress National Preserve. The snake is as long as an adult giraffe is tall.

The Twitter page Now This News shared a video of the daring catch. It shows the snake lunging at the man who catches it by the scruff of its neck. The python has its mouth wide open and tries to bite the man with its fangs. It even tries to coil itself around the man but he does not let go of its mouth. He quickly disentangles himself from the snake as others help him.

“A group of python hunters captured a record-breaking snake in Florida’s Big Cypress National Preserve. The Burmese python was 19 feet and approx 125 pounds. Pythons are an invasive species in Florida, and the state allows private hunters to capture or kill the reptile,” the caption of the video read.
