Do you remember your first job? One that you took on a part-time basis while studying so that you could support yourself. There is a popular trend on social media of posting about your first job and then your subsequent roles showing your career progress.

Adam Mosseri, the current head of Instagram, shared his remarkable career trajectory which included humble beginnings in a post on Threads and it left netizens inspired.

Threads is an online social media platform developed by Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, that was pitted as a rival to X, formerly Twitter, owned by Tesla and SpaceX founder Elon Musk.

Mosseri was replying to a Threads post in which people post about their career path and the progress they have made. The 40-year-old wrote waiter, bartender, designer (and manager), product manager and head of Instagram as his career chronology.

“Props to all those who started as bartenders & waiters!” a user commented. “You’ve inspired me so much & encouraged my love of travel!” another person said. “It Doesn’t Matter From Where You Started. What Matters is Where You End,” wrote a third.

Before becoming the head of Instagram in October 2018, Mosseri worked at Facebook for 15 years. In May 2018, he was named Instagram’s vice president of product.
