Congress suspends Sadhu Yadav

The Bihar unit of Congress on Wednesday suspended Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav for reportedly speaking against the Women's Reservation Bill.

The Bihar unit of Congress on Wednesday suspended Anirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav for reportedly speaking against the Women’s Reservation Bill, but the senior party leader said he had not made any such statement.

“We have taken serious note of Sadhu Yadav going to the extreme step of violating the party lines on the Bill and suspended him with immediate effect,” Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee chief Anil Sharma told reporters.

“We will soon issue a show cause notice to Sadhu Yadav seeking his explanation why he should not be expelled from the party,” he said.

Sharma’s announcement, however, did not find favour with the AICC in-charge of party affairs in Bihar Jagdish Tytler who disapproved of it.

“Sadhu Yadav should have been given time to explain his conduct before taking disciplinary action. It seems to be an unilateral decision and I will speak to Sharma on it,” Tytler said when approached for comment after he arrived from New Delhi.

Sadhu Yadav,brother-in-law of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad,on his part said,”I have not said anything on the issue. Since the assembly elections are around the corner some vested interests in the party are playing dirty politics to malign me.”
