Both the BJP and its ally Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD ) reacted sharply after the 74-year old riots accused was seen in the front rows at an event to appoint former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit as Delhi Congress chief, on Wednesday.
Sukhbir Singh Badal claimed that the Centre had written to the SIT chairman to investigate new facts that emerged after Jagdish Tytler’s statement in an interview to a news channel that Rajiv Gandhi had “recced” North Delhi during the riots.
BJP national secretary filed a complaint against Jagdish Tytler, after the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee president Manjit Singh G K released video clips purportedly showing Tytler speaking about his role in the riots.
The court said the polygraph test should be conducted at an independent place, and asked the CBI investigating officer to submit a list of hospitals in the capital where it could be done. It asked for a report by August 1.
New Delhi, Feb 22 (ANI): Advocate H.S. Phoolka on Monday expressed displeasure over CBI's slow proceedings to bring the perpetrators of 1984 sikh riots to justice, saying that the investigation team had filed the closure report against Jagdish Tytler three times. Phoolka added that 31 years have passed and the CBI still needs time to investigate the matter. Phoolka said that CBI SP has been granted two more months and the next hearing has been scheduled to April27.
