Amar Singh calls Congress a silent enemy

Calling Congress a "silent enemy",SP accused the ruling party of adopting a "use and throw" policy to come out of difficult situations.

Calling Congress a “silent enemy”,Samajwadi Party on Thursday accused the ruling party of adopting a “use and throw” policy to come out of difficult situations and said parties supporting it should respond in a similar manner.

The SP,headed by Mulayam Singh Yadav,which gives unconditional support to the UPA government from outside however did not give any signs of withdrawing the backing.

“We have to understand that the final (political) battle will be between Congress and SP,…it is a silent enemy and attacks like a submarine hidden underneath or the Drone missile,” SP General Secretary Amar Singh told the Special National Conference of the party here.

In a recorded message from a Singapore hospital,where he is recuperating after kidney transplant,he said there had been suggestions that SP should meet President Pratibha Patil to withdraw support to Congress-led UPA.

Singh said Congress follows the policy of “use and throw” and works with the objective of gaining maximum out of situations. “We should also treat Congress as it treats other political parties,” he said.

Singh said he and party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav have committed a “crime” by being decent.

“We helped Congress when it was in a bad shape after the Left parties had withdrawn support and the assembly election results in five states had gone against it…we did not ask for anything. Still we were used and thrown away,” he said.

He also accused Congress of having a “hidden love” for BSP and said the Mayawati-led will fall “nder the weight of statues it has installed in UP”.
