LONDON, May 9: Two television reporters 8212; a woman and a cameraman 8212; were shoved and pushed by Vladimir Zhirinovsky, leader of Russia8217;s extreme right Liberal Democratic Party, after Russian bodyguards blocked his entry to a World War II commemoration service attended by President Boris Yeltsin in Moscow yesterday.Television footage showed an angry Zhirinovsky pushing the woman violently into his car and clashing with the cameraman before departing from the venue. In a statement released by his office later, Zhirinovsky said Presidential Guards had denied him access to the tomb of the unknown soldiers, but he did not mention his fight with the two reporters.

A member of the Russian Duma, Lower House of Parliament, Zhirinovsky, has a history of confrontations with political opponents. He once threw a glass of juice at Boris Nemtsov, now a first Deputy Prime Minister in the Russian Government. He has also scuffled on the floor of Parliament.Though Zhirinovsky can claim immunity from prosecution , an investigation into the incident is likely to be opened.
