CHANDIGARH, April 4: The Chandigarh Junior State wrestling championship will be held on April 6 at Wrestling Coaching Centre in Sector 30. According to a press release, weighing-in would commence at 9.30 a.m., and the bouts will start from 10.30 a.m.

Wrestlers of only the affiliated units of the Chandigarh Wrestling Association will be allowed to take part in the meet. Players born between January 1, 1979 to December 31, 1981, are eligible for the tournament. Trials will also be held to select senior team for the Khalsa Tercentenary celebration beginning from April 8 to 12 at Anandpur Sahib.

Sonu excels
The Chandigarh team won 14 medals, including five gold in the National karate and kick boxing tournament held recently at Ahmedabad.

According to a press release, Sonu, Jonny, Om Pal, Satinder and Anita got gold medals.

Babu Lal and Ravi Kumar won silver.
