0LONDON: The bodyguard who survived the Paris car crash which killed Princess Diana has returned to work, The Sun reported on Wednesday.The newspaper said Trevor Rees-Jones, 29, who was badly injured in the crash was doing light duties8217; four days a week at the Harrods Department store, owned by Dodi Fayed8217;s father, Mohamed Al-Fayed.

8220;It was a low key return to work because we didn8217;t want to put him under any pressure. But he has said he wants to be back full time,8221; The Sun quoted an unnamed spokesman for the department store as saying.

The newspaper did not say when Rees-Jones, who was Dodi8217;s bodyguard, had begun work.

The newspaper said French surgeons carried out 15 operations to Rees-Jones8217; face and chest after the accident.

Oprah trial

Sleeping sickness

SYDNEY: Australia8217;s first case of sleeping sickness in 30 years 8212; a woman who contracted the disease on a trip to Africa 8212; was lucky to be alive today, doctors in Sydney said.

Sleeping sickness, or trypanosomiasis, is transmitted to humans by blood-sucking tsetse flies that have fed on the blood of an infected animal. The disease is only found in Africa and is seldom caught by tourists.

Symptoms of sleeping sickness include fever, headaches, tremors and lethargy and commonly lead to a coma and then death.

De Niro grilled

PARIS: A French investigative judge has questioned actor Robert De Niro as awitness in connection with a call girl ring, police said.

Police picked up De Niro at the Bristol Hotel, where he was staying while shooting a movie in Paris, sources said on condition of anonymity. Police unsuccessfully tried to locate the 55-year-old actor last week. Judge Frederic N8217;Guyen is investigating a pricey prostitution ring that operated in the upscale 16th district of western Paris.
