
CHANDIGARH, Oct 8: As many as 55 teachers from affiliated schools of the Central Board for Secondary Education CBSE and Kendriya Vidyalayas from the States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territory of Chandigarh attended a three-day-workshop on teaching English course-A to classes IX and X. The workshop, which was held at at Shivalik Public School , concluded today.
Savita Manuja, Principal DAV Public School, Sector 8 and Bushra Ahuja, Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kasauli were the resource persons for the workshop. The participants were made to deliberate on issues related to Communicate Language Teaching8217; with a focus on CLT based evaluation techniques. Performance analysis constituted the core of the programme. The methodology of teaching of four language skills, preparing test items and qualities required for assessment were discussed in details.
In his key note address, Y.P Katyal, Joint Secretary, CBSE called upon the teachers to update their techniques for improved performance of students in the board examination. He appreciated the affiliated schools for sponsoring teachers for such orientation programmes. He also gave away certificates to the participants.
