CHANDIGARH, Dec 8: SD College for Women, Moga edged past Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana by a solitary point 12-11 to sail into the next round of the Panjab University Inter-College women8217;s softball championship which commenced at the PU Campus here today.
For the eventual winners, Hardeep got three goals while Virpal, Amritpal and Sonia scored two points each. Geeta, Sharan and Rekha got two points each for the losers.
In another match Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College for Women, Dasuya beat AS College, Khanna 14-9.
Kiran 3, Harpreet 2, Prabhjot 2, Prabhjeet 2, Davinder 2 and Neeru 2 scored for the winners.
Kamalpreet got three points while Shamli and Daljeet scored two goals each for the Khanna team.
Defending champions, MCM DAV-36 will play their first match tomorrow.
Last year8217;s runner-up, Government College for Girls-11, will take on GTB Khalsa College, Dasuya, in their opening match tomorrow.
