His political statements such as not involving Kashmiris in Indo-Pak talks and not re-drawing borders leave little scope for negotiations. It boils down to the stand that there cannot be any solution except Pakistan vacating POK. Vajpayee was more flexible in his stand of having talks with Pakistan without preconditions and with Kashmiris without insisting that talks with them should be in the Constitution8217;s ambit.
