PUNE, Sept 17: Additional municipal commissioner Deepak Kapoor will visit the Pune Municipal Corporation vehicle depot on Friday to find out if dumpers and trucks actually left the depot in the past 15 days to collect garbage. He will also check the 6 a.m. roll-call of sanitation works.
Reacting `positively’ to The Indian Express report on garbage accumulated in the city, Kapoor said an urgent meeting of sanitation officers was called to take remedial measures. Dumpers and garbage trucks may not have left the depot due to some fault. Kapoor will cover 20 per cent of the 124 wards. There are 7000 sanitation workers.
