Vinod Khanna and Farooque Shaikh on screen for the first time

Vinod Khanna and Farooque Shaikh will come together for the first time in Rahhul S Anands Chhoti Si Duniya.

The film revolves around the Indian medical fraternity and their efforts to save lives. The story has been scripted in consultation with reputed medical heads and will be shot in the Himalayas and Bangkok.

Rahhul intends to pay a tribute to his elder brother Mukul S Anand with Chhoti Si Duniya,which will also introduce his son Rohitt Anand. While Khanna plays Rohitts father,Shaikh is the dean of a college. The movie will take off in May.

Big B to play gangster-turned-politician in Department
Ram Gopal Varmas Department highlights the politics within a police department and how the underworld gangs take advantage of it.

Amitabh Bachchan will play a gangster-turned-politician in this action thriller,while Sanjay Dutt and Abhishek Bachchan are encounter specialists. Kangna Ranaut is in the female lead, said Varma.

It is after a while that the director is going back to what is probably his forte,that is action-crime cinema. His earlier films like Satya and Company are still remembered.

Rascals and Desi Boyz wont release on same day
Director David Dhawan,whose Rascals is almost 85 per cent complete,has denied that he is keen to release his comic caper on the same day as his son,Rohit Dhawans directorial debut Desi Boyz.

These reports are utter nonsense. Desi Boyz is my sons debut film and I would never want to compete with him. I want Rohits movie to be a bigger hit than my film. Rascals is releasing in the first week of September while Desi Boyz will hit the theatres in November, said the director.

Both films are comic capers and have an interesting star cast.

Pallavi Joshi in Buddha In A Traffic Jam
Pallavi Joshi,who was last seen in the award-winning Marathi film Rita,is all set to return to Hindi cinema with her husband Vivek Agnihotris Buddha In A Traffic Jam.

The movie,which was filmed in the Indian School of Business campus in Hyderabad,is 90 per cent complete and stars Arunoday Singh and Mahie Gill in key roles. Pallavi will be seen as the pottery club owner,who is married to a college professor played by Anupam Kher. I realised how much I missed being an actor. This is also the first time that I am doing a film with my husband she said.

Shekhar Suman to direct Adhyayan in Heartless
Shekhar Suman has taken charge of his son Adhyayan Sumans career by directing him in his new film Heartless,a remake of the Hayden Christensen-Jessica Alba crime thriller Awake 2007.

We are buying the copyrights of the film. But it wont be an exact copy of the original. We are changing it for the Indian audience. A new girl will play the female lead, said Adhyayan who made his debut in Haal-E-Dil and played a principal character in Raaz-The Mystery Continues. The actor has also signed The Outsider and the remake of the hit television serial Dekh Bhai Dekh.
