Exclusive | Shreyas Talpade dismisses reports of participating in Bigg Boss Marathi 6, hosted by Riteish Deshmukh: ‘Baseless’
Ahead of its grand premiere on 11th January, Shreyas Talpade has denied particpating in the show. Others contestant names include Vishal Kotian, Karan Sonawane, Raqesh Bapat, Sagar Karande, Tejasswi Prakash, and others.
Riteish Deshmukh-hosted Bigg Boss Marathi Season 6 is set to have its grand launch on Sunday, 11th January. While the makers have shared first glimpses from the premiere on social media, they have been quite tight-lipped about the contestants who might appear on the show this season. While many prominent names from the Marathi industry are set to join the show, a recent report in Pinkvilla stated that actor Shreyas Talpade was in talks to participate in the reality show.
When SCREEN reached out to Shreyas to confirm if this information was true, the actor said, “These are false, baseless rumours…not true at all.” Shreyas also told Zoom, “Unfortunately, actors are the softest of targets, and some people will do anything to gain traction.” While Shreyas is quite a celebrated name in both the Marathi and Hindi film industries, it doesn’t appear that he is ready to explore the reality space anytime soon.
With the show set to premiere soon, an impressive list of tentative contestants is circulating. According to a few reports, many ex-Bigg Boss Hindi contestants might be seen on the latest season of Bigg Boss Marathi. A few names of ex-contestants include Vishal Kotian, Raqesh Bapat, and Tejasswi Prakash. While Vishal and Raqesh’s entry in the show is still a possibility, Tejasswi’s participation looks unlikely as she is currently doing Laughter Chefs 3 on Colors TV.
Other contestant names include social media influencer Karan Sonawane, actor Sagar Karande, Sonali Raut, Prajakta Shukre, Sanket Pathak, Anushree Mane, Deepali Sayyed, Radha Mumbaikar, and Rasika Jamsudkar.
Bigg Boss Marathi 6 theme, when and where to watch it
Riteish Deshmukh’s hosted show will project the heaven and hell theme this year. As per reports, the contestants will get to open the door to their fate and might end up in either ‘heaven or hell’. While those in heaven will have all the powers in the game, those in hell will have to face several challenges on their journey.
Talking about hosting Bigg Boss Marathi, Riteish had said at the press conference, “I like how Bigg Boss Marathi has a distinct identity. Last year was my first experience. This year, I am hoping for exciting contestants come on the show. I have not done any preparations/ I am a reactive personality, so based on the actions, I will have reactions. I am also an audience for the show, but I make sure not to personally react to situations. People often go inside the show thinking about doing what will get them noticed, but the creative team is the smartest, so they have a counter for all strategies.” He had also stated how hosting this show comes with its pressures.
Bigg Boss Marathi 6 will start streaming on Jio Hotstar and Colors Marathi at 8 pm every Monday to Sunday from 11th January. This is the second season that Riteish Deshmukh will host.
