Prime Minister Manmohan Singh may have announced an inquiry into the discontent brewing in the prestigious Visva Bharati University founded by Rabindranath Tagore, but the probe is yet to take off because none of the three members of the fact-finding committee constituted by the HRD Ministry are willing to be a part of the process. The committee was to have on board former Visva Bharati VCs Amlan Dutta and Sabyasachi Bhattacharya besides a Secretary-level official. With all three having turned down the task to probe charges against the current VC,Rajat Kanta Ray,the UGC has again knocked on the ministrys doors. The ministry has now proposed a one-man committee to probe the charges.
