The article titled Stars amp; Style Screen,March 11-17 was a fun read. For a change,it was great to hear that fashion designers are choosing the aam junta over Bollywood celebrities.
I fail to understand why a Bollywood celebrity, who does not endorse the designers clothes, should walk the ramp for them; instead ordinary people who have achieved extraordinary feats should be given the opportunity.
Im sure that the audiences at the Lakme Fashion Week would have loved the change too. Having an actor walk the ramp is a concept that has been done-to-death but Babita Malkani getting Baul singers from Kolkata was a good change.
It did come as a surprise that Manish Malhotra too had slammed the door on Bollywood! The fashion designer has always encouraged celebrities from tinsel-town to walk the ramp for him,in fact,he was the first designer to set the trend. I enjoy celebrity interviews but such off-the-cuff accounts are a great read too.
