Sidhu sidelined,wont contest LS polls: Wife

BJP MP from Amritsar Navjot Singh Sidhu will not contest the 2014 Lok Sabha elections as he has been sidelined by his party,according to his wife and BJP chief parliamentary secretary Navjot Kaur Sidhu.

Everyday,I hear talks and read in the media that Sidhu has run away from Amritsar. It is being said that he is ignoring the constituency for TV shows and other assignments. That is not true. After being sidelined by the party,he has chosen to devote time to TV shows8230;. As things stand today,he will not contest the Lok Sabha polls, she said on Wednesday.

On her Facebook page on Sunday,she had expressed her anguish over Sidhu not being in the loop to run the show of the party even in Amritsar. She had asked whether Sidhu had been ignored because he will not promote corrupt leaders.

Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma denied the charges,saying: We always kept Sidhu in the loop8230;. But due to his occupational responsibilities,he was not available for meetings.
