Sibal for core maths,science curriculum

Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal on Monday pressed for a uniform core-curriculum in Mathematics and Science in school boards across the country in the interest of a common entrance exam for various professional courses.

Remarking that the systems of education are narrow in our country,he said this would ensure uniformity and equivalence of quality. Sibal added that efforts were on to make Class X Boards optional from the next academic year in CBSE schools.

Addressing the meeting of the Council of Boards of School Education in India COBSE,the Minister said that there was a need to break the barriers in the education system.
