Select grains showed weakness as prices moved down by up to Rs 40 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today on sluggish demand against adequate stocks positions.
Traders said reduced offtake by flour mills mainly led to the decline in wheat dara prices.
Adequate stocks position against subdued demand from consuming industries kept pressure on other grain prices,they said.
In the national capital,wheat dara for mills remained weak and shed Rs 10 to Rs 1,225-1,235. Atta chakki delivery declined by the same margin to Rs 1,235-1,240 per 90 kg. Atta flour mills followed suit and shed Rs 10 to Rs 640-660 per 50 kg. Maize fell further by Rs 40 to Rs 1,300-1,310 per quintal.
