Raids on former UP ministers

The special investigation bureau of the police on Friday raided the houses of Rangnath Mishra and Chandra Deo Ram Yadav,who were ministers in the previous BSP government,in Bhadohi and Azamgarh districts to arrest them in connection with allegations that they had taken kickbacks in return for allocating work to the Labour and Construction Co-operative Federation in 2010-2011.

The special investigation bureau SIB of the police on Friday raided the houses of Rangnath Mishra and Chandra Deo Ram Yadav,who were ministers in the previous BSP government,in Bhadohi and Azamgarh districts to arrest them in connection with allegations that they had taken kickbacks in return for allocating work to the Labour and Construction Co-operative Federation LACCFED in 2010-2011. However,neither of the two was found at their houses.

The SIB had obtained arrest warrants against both on Thursday on the basis of evidence against them,said Deputy SP AP Gangwar.

Separate teams of SIB officials raided former secondary education minister Rangnath Mishras house in Bhadohi district and former small scale industries minister Chandra Deo Ram Yadavs place in Azamgarh district between 3 am and 3.30 am.

Gangwar said they had collected evidence against the two,showing they had accepted commission for allocating fund to LACCFED for construction works.
