PUCL leader in custody after FB post

JAYA Vindhayala,a lawyer from Ongole in Prakasam district,was sent to 14 days in judicial custody after she was arrested for alleged defamatory posts on Facebook.

Vindhyalaya,who is also a member of Peoples Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL),was allegedly in a long-running feud with Congress MLA from Chirala A Krishna Mohan over land dealings. Livid at the MLA whom she accused of being supported by Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah,Vindhyalaya allegedly posted derogatory comments against both and also distributed pamphlets maligning them.

We received a complaint on April 18 from the MLA first about the pamphlets. Later on,he complained again regarding derogatory comments on Facebook. The lawyer was arrested Sunday and was produced in court today, said SP K Raghuram Reddy.
