Telecom major BSNL has chalked out a plan to replace PCOs with new generation VCOs video call offices.
8220;The VCOs will provide the facility of making a video call at an affordable rate and connect people to their near and dear ones in a live manner,8221; BSNL MP circle8217;s senior general manager Prabhash Singh and Bhopal circle general manager Mahesh Shukla told reporters on the occasion of 8216;BSNL Day8217; today.
The service was launched by BSNL recently in the state and at present 35 people have activated the facility at their homes and business places.
The facility needs a dedicated broadband connection and a special instrument being provided by the SIS Info System,Singh said.
The VCO facility will be available in 34 districts of Madhya Pradesh.
The service has already been launched in Maharashtra,Goa,Gujarat,Rajasthan,Chhattisgarh,Uttar Pradesh,Uttarakhand,Himachal Pradesh,Punjab,Haryana and Jammu and Kashmir.
For a 45 second pulse of a video call,the operator will charge Rs 3 from the customer,he said.
