Gig workers associated with companies such as Blinkit, Zomato, Swiggy, Zepto, and others have called a nationwide strike, demanding better working conditions and better pay, and banning the 10-minute delivery system. Amid the ongoing debate over the issue, Gauri Gupta, founder of an AI startup, has grabbed attention on social media after she shared how Blinkit saved the day for her.
In an X post, Gupta shared that she forgot important documents during her 0-1 visa interview at the Delhi US Embassy. She began to panic after she realised that she had forgotten a few documents and had no time on hand to get printouts.
It was then that a security guard suggested Blinkit have her documents delivered. She further shared that all she had to do was upload her documents on the Blinkit application, and they delivered the printouts in 15 minutes, while she stood in the visa queue.
“I was standing in the queue for my O-1 visa interview at the Delhi US Embassy when I realized I might be missing a couple of documents that Google says are kind of important for O-1 approval. The queue was already insanely long even for an 8AM slot, and there was no time to run to the market. I started panicking a bit,” Gupta wrote.
“Just then the guard casually goes: “Ma’am, just Blinkit.” (@letsblinkit is an instant delivery app in India.) So while still standing in the queue, I uploaded my documents on the app. They got printed and delivered to me in 15 minutes, while I was still in the queue. Saved my panic moment lol. Visa approved and stamped. Literally saved my day and truly served the best purpose of a last-minute delivery app :) In such moments, services in India feel like a real privilege!” she added.
