Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee diagnosed the disease,but refused to treat it now.

In times as bad as these,many expected the UPAs interim Budget to give the economy a final dose of stimulus. Perhaps the expectations were misplaced since the government had made it clear there was no third stimulus this fiscal. Mukherjee said constitutional propriety called upon him to let the new government decide the tax and expenditure policies for 2009-10. Till a new owner takes charge,we are on auto-pilot
