There are certain stretches along the 3,488 km China-Indian border where the distance between two border outposts is as long as 100 km. On an average, the gaps between border outposts are 25 km. These revelations were made on Thursday by Indo-Tibetan Border Polices DG Ranjit Kumar Bhatia, who also maintained that the India-China border was a friendly border where no hostilities existed.

The India-China border is known to be a friendly border8230; there are no such activities there like the ones that are there on other borders. You see the point is there is no demarcation on this border. There are no border pillars on this border and there is no boundary on this border. We are guarding a friendly border, Bhatia said in the run-up to ITBPs 49th Raising Day on October 24. Bhatia said that his remarks in no way contradicted any comments made by the Indian Army.
