Militant killed in valley encounter

A militant was killed in a gunbattle with security forces in Ganderbal district on Saturday. A joint team of the police and the Army cordoned the Chattergul village after specific inputs about the presence of militants in the village,the police said. As security forces were identifying the specified target,militants opened fire,triggering an encounter. One militant was killed and the encounter was still on,the police said.
