The Lok Sabha had another unproductive day today with disruptions leading to adjournment. BJP members took to slogan-shouting in the well demanding the Prime Ministers resignation over the coal block allocation controversy. The DMK and AIADMK members too went to the well of the House to protest against the visit of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The Question Hour began with Speaker Meira Kumar congratulating Girisha Nagarajegowda for winning a silver medal at the Paralympic Games in London. Immediately after thumping their desks to laud Nagarajegowda,Opposition members trooped to the well of the House.
The Speaker adjourned the Lok Sabha till noon.
When the House met again,some Congress members moved to the well and started shouting BJP murdabad to counter the BJP slogan-shouting. Amid the ruckus,Minister of State for Finance Namo Narain Meena withdrew the Securities and Exchange Board of India Amendment Bill.
As many as five Bills were listed in todays agenda The Prevention of Money Laundering Amendment Bill,The Unlawful Activities Prevention Amendment Bill,The Motor Vehicles Amendment Bill,the Prevention of Birbery of Foreign Public Official of Public International Organisation Bill and The Banking Laws Amendment Bill.
However,the government did not push any one of them.
