Ladies first,says Renuka

Last seen on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa,Renuka Shahane Rana will now be seen in a new show,Ladies First on Food Food channel. The show caters to women and airs every Thursday at 3pm afternoon. Talking about the show,the actress says,“It feels great to connect with the lady viewers and bond with them. On Ladies First,Ketaki Dave (my co-host) and I talk about various issues related to women,we decide the theme/ topic of every episode,from mother- daughter relations to home décor to mothers who are expecting. We get experts to talk about it and at the end of the show,we cook and show how to make healthy,nutritious and tasty cuisine like pizza made out of a paratha!”

So is this the Madhuri Dixit Nene connection (Madhuri is the brand ambassador of Food Food and she and Renuka portrayed a friendly relation on Jhalak …) that helped her to bag the show? “Madhuri and I lost touch the day I got eliminated from Jhalak…. After that we have never contacted each other. It is the production house who got in touch with me,” she says adding that she took up the show only because it is not time consuming. However,the actress is now training for her role behind the camera. “I have two kids at home and they take up most of my time. I cannot leave them at home and go out. However,I need to take time out for direction. I have written two screenplays,each in Hindi and Marathi. I am all pepped up to start directing the Hindi film which I have completed writing.” Renuka has already directed Rita,a Marathi film which got rave reviews.
