JPC tenure to be extended

Parliament is all set to extend the tenure of the JPC probing the 2G spectrum allocation issue till the end of the Budget session next year.

Parliament is all set to extend the tenure of the JPC probing the 2G spectrum allocation issue till the end of the Budget session next year.

In fact,a motion to this effect is likely to be moved in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday to seek its approval for extending the time for presentation of the report of the Joint Committee to examine matters relating to allocation and pricing of telecom licences and spectrum till the last day of the Budget session 2012.

The JPC is headed by Congresss P C Chacko. One of its members,Jayanthi Natarajan,was recently inducted into the Council of Ministers. The Congress then nominated S Nachiappan as her replacement.
