Jaswant accuses govt of giving weak leadership

BJP leader Jaswant Singh attacked the UPA in the Lok Sabha for providing weak political leadership to the country

BJP leader Jaswant Singh attacked the UPA in the Lok Sabha on Thursday for providing weak political leadership to the country. Initiating a discussion on the Budget,he charged the government with inaction and inefficiency in dealing with price rise, fiscal deficit, black money and lack of investment in the country. This indicates weak political leadership, he said, adding that some state governments had done better than the Centre in tackling the fiscal deficit.

Singh said the UPA had been condemned to a perpetual crisis. He added that the government had too many economists. He said: Too many cooks spoil the broth. But here, too many cooks are not only spoiling the broth but also not allowing the broth to be cooked. He called upon Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee to focus on providing affordable food to all and making Indian businessmen invest in India.
