Former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was on Friday granted 1 million bail under stringent conditions,which include tagging him with an electronic device.
He was formally indicted on all seven counts of sexually assaulting a hotel maid. Strauss-Kahn,62,would be detained at his Manhattan apartment.
The New York Supreme Court Judge Michael J Obus asked him to pay a bond of 5 million as he acknowledged a serious risk that Strauss-Kahn could attempt to flee.
On June 6,the court will hold an arraignment hearing in which the exact charges will be revealed. Thursday,Strauss-Kahn resigned from the IMF.
