Congress MP Vithal Radadiya Tuesday urged the High Court to quash the FIR filed against him for threatening the staff of a toll plaza with a gun on October 12,as they did not want to press charges.
The Gujarat government, however, opposed Radadiyas plea, saying the complainant, Ajaysinh Thakor, had been won over by him.
The court posted the case for hearing on November 5,but not before rapping the MP for his behaviour. Is this the manner in which an MP behaves in public? Is this the kind of language that one uses in a civilised society? He has got a licensed gun,but is it for show-off? the court said.
Thakor had alleged that Radadiya threatened him and his colleagues and hit another employee with his gun after he was asked to show his identity card to claim the toll waiver.
