Five Naxals arrested for Jharkhand blast

Launching an operation this week to nab Maoists who had killed policemen in Garhwa last month,the security forces on Tuesday arrested five suspected CPIMaoist cadres.

The police said on Wednesday that a joint team of CoBRA,CRPF,Jharkhand Armed Police,and District Armed Police launched a three-day operation in the area on February 26. Four of the arrested cadres Mohan Yadav,Arjun Yadav,Manish Prasad and Surendra Prasad have been named accused in the case. The fifth,Devsagar Yadav,is also a Naxal,the police said.

The four are among the 30 accused in the case where 14 policemen,including a sub-inspector,were killed on January 21.

Garhwa SP Michael Raj said,The four have admitted that they were part of the squad that had triggered a landmine blast.
