Yashwant Rajadhyaksha (Ramesh Deo) has spent his life being a lawyer and believes in the strength of the law. His wife Sumati (Seema Deo) has been his biggest support over the years. Shweta (Manva Naik),their young daughter with her boyfriend, cameraman Aaditya (Kaustubh Diwan) is working on a project for the rehabilitation of the villagers of Kalambi with the help of Prabhakar (Sharad Ponkshe),a social worker. She fights for the justice of the villagers and even has a tiff with Sushant Mahashabde (Prasad Oak) and his friends Ajay (Aditya Shah) and Rakesh Satoskar (Ranjeet Jog). Their conversation is recorded by Aaditya and when Sushant, the rich spoilt son of business tycoon Raghunath Mahashabde (Sandeep Mehta),gets to know of it,he threatens Shweta who agrees to give him the CD. When she deliberately gives him a blank CD,he kills her in front of her father.
The court case turns in the favour of Sushant and his friends because of his fathers high connections and they are set free. A few days later, Rakesh meets with an accident and dies. ACP Vikrant Marathe (Ajinkya Deo) suspects that it is not an accident but a murder. After that Ajay is found dead in his bathroom and his body is discovered by Marathe.
One thing leads to the other and Marathe asks for the case file of Shweta Rajadhyaksha and sets on his mission to find the killer of Rakesh and Ajay and is shocked at his discovery.
Seema Deo makes a comeback to acting with this film. She agreed to do the film provided it is directed by her older son,Ajinkya Deo. Ajinkya has not disappointed his mother. He has done a good job as director. Even in his role as the ACP,he stands out. And Seema Deo as Sumati Rajadhyaksha carries the film on her slender shoulders. There is no trace of ever being away from films and her expressions and eyes speak volumes. Ramesh Deo as Yashwant Rajadhyaksha is at par with her. Despite his age,he looks elegant and does justice to the character of a father who has failed to bring the murderers of his daughter to book. Manva Naik looks good and portrays the part of Shweta excellently. Prasad Oak as Sushant Mahashabde looks the role of a spoilt son of a rich father while Sandip Mehta as Raghunath Mahashabde, the tycoon, suits the role. Sharad Ponkshe in his brief role of Prabhakar, the social worker,is also impressive.
The other aspect of the film is the flawless story penned by Ajinkya that leaves an impact. This proves that the actor is capable of churning out good films and we can look forward to some.
Singer Vaishali Samant has also done a good job as the composer and managed to give different varieties of music. Vaishali joins Suresh Wadkar to sing Kasaa prarambh hotaa and Yaa sukhano yaa by Shankar Mahadevan are pleasant to the ears while Avdahoot Gupte sings Thingi thingila dete nazar,a disco number, that has one tapping their feet.
RATING:
Four stars: one each for Ramesh Deos heartfelt performance as a dejected father and Seema Deo for her performance as a strong and solid woman who stands by her husband. One for Ajinkya Deos story and not to forget the excellent direction along with Amole Shetge. Vaishali Samants foot-tapping music also deserves a star.
