In a new twist to the triple murder at the office of an Agartala newspaper on May 19,the Tripura Police on Friday arrested the newspapers editor-cum-owner Sushil Choudhury.

Confirming the arrest,Tripura Police spokesperson and IGP Nepal Chandra Das said while investigating officers had taken Choudhurys statement several times in the past three weeks, the 72-year-old was picked up Friday afternoon and arrested following certain specific inputs. The IGP,however, refrained from divulging the details.

Three persons manager Ranjit Choudhury, proof reader Sujit Bhattacharjee and driver Balaram Ghosh were stabbed to death one after the other by two masked men who came on a motorcycle in broad daylight in the office of Dainik Ganadoot in the Palace Compound locality of Agartala on May 19.

Although the police refused to give details of the editors involvement in the triple murder, sources in the police did not rule out the possibility of an illicit relationship as the reason behind the murders.
