In what could spell trouble for ruling National Conference, its junior coalition partner Congress has started warming up to opposition Peoples Democratic Party in the state, indicating it is not averse to the idea of an alliance in future.

At a function in north Kashmirs Bandipore town, chaired by Jamp;K PCC president Saifudin Soz and attended by other senior leaders of Congress Friday, local PDP legislator Nizamuddin Bhat said the next government could be formed by the Congress and the PDP as coalition partners.

Pointing out that the Congress had many options, president Soz in a cryptic manner said,When water overflows from a pot,it takes its own course.

This is not the first time when a PDP legislator has spoken of a tie-up with Congress in the state to keep the National Conference out of power after the 2014 assembly elections.

Adding to the speculation is the fact that though the PDP leadership has been criticising National Conference regularly, party leaders have refrained from making statements against Congress.
