Taking his turf-battle with PAC chairman Murli Manohar Joshi forward,JPC chief P C Chacko met Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar here on Friday to seek her intervention to ensure that the PAC did not dwell on the same issues as his panel vis-a-vis the 2-G spectrum scam.
Sources said he also took up with her the issue of conflict of interest, raised by members of the Congress,Left and Trinamool Congress,in the context of the presence of some former ministers on the committee, who had played a role in the formulation of telecom policy between 1998 and 2008. They include senior BJP leaders Jaswant Singh and Yashwant Sinha.
Sources said Chacko felt the two parliamentary committees might end up doing parallel jobs. The PAC chairman, who had earlier suggested that Chacko write to him, instead of speaking in public, told the media on Thursday that he had not received any communication from the JPC chief yet.
The JPC is likely to meet on May 18 next.
