Lubricant maker Castrol India posted over 60 per cent increase in net profit for the third quarter ended September 30,to Rs 95.6 crore over the same period a year earlier.
Total income of the company rose to Rs 566.7 crore in the latest quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 558.1 crore of year-ago period,Castrol India said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange BSE.
During the July-September quarter,Castrol India8217;s expenditure on advertisement rose by 86 per cent to Rs 40 crore,compared to Rs 21.5 crore in the same quarter in FY8217;09.
For the nine-month period ended September 30,the company posted a net profit of Rs 300.3 crore,up 39 per cent from Rs 215.3 crore in the year-ago period.
Shares of Castrol India were trading at Rs 563.60,down 2.03 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
