Broadband bids beyond rational: Vodafone

Vodafone Essar,India8217;s No.3 mobile carrier controlled by Vodafone,said it decided to step away from the broadband auction as bid prices went beyond rational levels.

Vodafone,which had participated in the auction,did not win spectrum in any of the telecom zones.

The company is well-positioned to offer high-speed data services via the 3G spectrum it won in an auction that ended last month,a company representative said in a statement.
