Artificial downpours in UAE deserts

LONDON: Scientists claim to have generated downpours in the deserts of the UAE. A team,employed by ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan created some 50 rainstorms last year in the emirates eastern Al Ain region,the Daily Mail reported. The scientists have been using giant ionisers to generate fields of negatively charged particles. These promote cloud formation.
