Journalist shot dead in Bilaspur
RAIPUR: Unidentified assailants shot dead Sushil Pathak,a journalist,after midnight at Bilaspur city in Chhattisgarh. Police said the incident took place when Pathak,working with Hindi daily Dainik Bhaskar,was returning home after a late night shift and the assailants fired four bullets from close range,killing him on the spot. Another journalist saw Pathak and informed the police.
Fahim Ansari to be produced in HC

Mob beats to death notorious goon
KANPUR: Notorious history-sheeter Raju Yadav 45 was lynched to death by a mob in Balrampur village on Sunday,after he and two of his accomplices attacked a primary school teacher and tried to demand money from him. Yadav and his accomplices attacked Nirmal Kushwaha 50 with an axe in Ratanpur village after he refused to pay them. However,a crowd chased Yadav and killed him in the adjoining Balrampur village.
Orissa MLA throws pen stand at Speaker
BHUBANESWAR: A Congress member on Monday threw a pen stand at the Speaker over alleged tender fixing in an irrigation project. As Opposition members trooped into the Well of the House shouting against Mohanty,Saluja picked up a pen stand and threw it at the Speakers chair. It missed Speaker Pradip Amat and broke after hitting the podium.
Tiger census begins in Kaziranga
GUWAHATI: The Kaziranga National Park authorities have begun the first phase of a fresh tiger census in the park to ascertain the exact number of big cats there. The first phase will last the whole of the current week. We are first looking at the prey species as well the prey base of tigers across the park, park director Surajit Dutta told The Indian Express.
