No political activities for MP employees
BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh government on Thursday said it has banned participation of government officers and employees from any kind of political activity. Such participation will be construed as violation of the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services Conduct Rules 1965 and disciplinary action will be taken against the government employee concerned,an official release said here.
Children fall ill after eating Jatropha seeds
BADAUN UP: Two dozen children from different villages were taken ill after consuming seeds of a poisonous plant in Sahaswan area of the district,official sources said here on Thursday. Children hailing from Kothra,Rasoolpur Kalan and Bastoi villages complained of nausea and after consuming seeds of Jatropha plant while playing in the fields last evening,Sub Divisional Magistrate M P Singh said. The children were rushed to Community Health CentreCHC where their condition is stated to be stable, Singh said.
4 minors arrested for raping 9-yr-old
MUMBAI: Four minor orphans have been arrested for allegedly raping their nine-year-old schoolmate at the premises of a shelter attached with the educational institute in suburban Bandra,police said on Thursday. The victim is a student of Class I at St Catherine of Siena school,which also has a home for destitute children in which over 300 boys and girls live. The boys,in Class III,IV and V,have confessed to the rape following which they were arrested on Tuesday, said Samad Sheikh,Senior Inspector at Bandra Police Station.
MIG-27 makes emergency landing
JODHPUR: An MIG-27 aircraft made an emergency landing here barely two minutes after taking off from the air force station due to system failure. According to the PRO Defence S D Goswami,the MIG-27 took off from the Jodhpur air force base at 4.45 pm on a routine training sortie. Immediately after taking off,it developed some technical fault. Goswami said the pilot turned back the aircraft towards Jodhpur and landed safely at 4.47 pm to the air base. An internal inquiry has been ordered by the air force to look into the matter.
Mumbai school seeks behaviour certificates
MUMBAI: Authorities of a school in suburban Andheri have sought behaviour certificates sworn in before a magistrate from the parents of Class IX and X students of the institution. We want our students to follow certain discipline and we want them to be good human beings when they go out of the school, said Chaula Joshi,director of Prime Academy school. Therefore,we wanted parents to take up and share responsibility for the good behaviour of their wards.
